Itinerary
Depart Canada on your overnight flight to Casablanca, Morocco.
Arrive in Casablanca and enjoy brunch at a local restaurant. Take a panoramic tour of the city, including the Church of Notre Dame and Mohammed V Square. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner at the iconic Rick’s Café.
After breakfast at the hotel, begin the day with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, a breathtaking architectural masterpiece dramatically set along the Atlantic coast. Continue to Casablanca’s Central Market, where colourful stalls and lively rhythms reveal local flavours, daily life, and traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. Depart Casablanca for Tangier aboard a modern high-speed train, enjoying a comfortable journey through Morocco’s scenic northern landscapes. Upon arrival, discover Tangier’s highlights with a visit to the legendary Hercules Cave, followed by a walk through the vibrant medina, where winding streets and bustling markets showcase the city’s rich cultural heritage. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. Dinner and the evening are at leisure.

Arrive in Chefchaouen, a town steeped in history and nestled in the Rif Mountains. Founded in the 15th century by Moorish refugees fleeing Spain, Chefchaouen remained largely untouched until the Spanish occupation in 1920, preserving its unique charm.
Take a guided walking tour of the Medina, where twisting alleys are lined with buildings painted in brilliant shades of blue and white. As you leave Chefchaouen’s iconic blue streets behind, enjoy views of rolling hills, verdant valleys, and traditional Berber villages. Arrive in Fes later in the day, ready to continue your exploration of Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart.
Explore Fes, Morocco’s oldest royal city, renowned as the most complete medieval city in the Arab world, Fes has preserved its historic charm and traditional way of life.
Begin your day with a tour of the city’s ramparts, then venture into Fes el-Bali (Old Fes). Wander through bustling food and spice markets, artisan workshops, vibrant souks, and residential quarters. Visit a medieval school for children and meet local teachers and pupils, gaining insight into daily life here.
Highlight of the morning: the 14th-century Medersa, an architectural marvel, and the surroundings of the Karaouine Mosque, once the world’s oldest university, founded in 857 AD by Fatima al-Fihriya.
Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Royal Palace, a 19th-century former residence of King Hassan I, now showcasing traditional Moroccan arts. Explore Fes El Jedid (New Fes), including the Jewish Quarter and its 17th-century synagogue, and the bustling jewelry market.
Depart Fes after breakfast for a day trip to Meknes and Volubilis. In Meknes, explore the city founded in 1672 by Sultan Moulay Ismail. See the grand granaries and stables, visit the king’s mausoleum, stroll through the main square, and admire Bab el-Mansour, a majestic gate famously painted by Delacroix. Lunch at a local restaurant in Meknes. In the afternoon, visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, Morocco’s most impressive archaeological site. A guide will reveal the city’s rich history and impressive mosaics. Return to Fes by late afternoon.
Travel from Fes to Rabat, taking in scenic Moroccan landscapes, fertile plains, and glimpses of the Atlas Mountains. Lunch is included at a local restaurant upon arrival.

After breakfast, transfer to Rabat Airport for a flight to Errachidia, then drive to Merzouga.

We depart for Marrakech, pausing at Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of southern Morocco’s most remarkable ksars. The cluster of red clay homes climbs dramatically from the valley floor up the hillside, creating a timeless landscape that has appeared in films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and The Jewel of the Nile. A guided stroll through this historic fortified village reveals its ancient architecture and the enduring traditions of local life.
After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, we leave the still and arid pre-Saharan terrain behind and ascend the High Atlas Mountains. Crossing the 7,400-foot Tizi n’Tichka Pass, we are treated to sweeping views of rugged peaks, deep valleys, and traditional Berber villages before descending toward the vibrant city of Marrakech, where the evening awaits.
Explore the Saadian Tombs, a stunning necropolis adorned with brilliantly coloured tiles, intricate Arabic calligraphy, and ornate carvings.
Continue to the Bahia Palace, a 19th-century masterpiece featuring exquisite mosaic work, gracefully colonnaded courtyards, and beautifully landscaped gardens, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s royal heritage.
Next, view the Koutoubia Mosque, famed for its soaring minaret, the oldest of the three great Almohad minarets still standing. While non-Muslim visitors cannot enter the mosque, its elegant exterior and surrounding gardens make for spectacular photo opportunities.
Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch set in a historic 19th-century riad. In the afternoon, wander the twisting alleys of the Marrakech medina and explore the bustling souks, where you’ll discover pottery, textiles, carpets, jewelry, lanterns, spices, and more.

After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel in Marrakech, we depart mid-morning for the scenic overland journey to Essaouira, a picturesque port town on Morocco’s Atlantic coast.
En route, we pass through groves of Argan trees, indigenous to southwestern Morocco and known to live for over 200 years. The small kernel inside the fruit produces the highly valued Argan oil, an essential Moroccan product used in cooking, cosmetics, and traditional medicine. At lunch, you’ll have the chance to taste this delicately flavoured oil, served with fresh bread or drizzled over couscous or pasta, giving you a true taste of Moroccan culinary tradition.
Leave Essaouira and travel along the Atlantic coast, with our first stop in Safi, an ancient port city renowned for its potters and ceramic artisans. Here, visit the Kechla, a 16th-century Portuguese citadel where local artisans display and sell their colourful wares. Explore the city’s historic landmarks, including the Portuguese Cathedral and a nearby seaside fortress, reflecting Safi’s important maritime past.
From Safi, continue along a scenic coastal road to Oualidia, a charming and often overlooked village on the Atlantic. Nestled among calm lagoons and sandy shores, Oualidia offers a peaceful setting for a relaxing lunch while enjoying the views and fresh sea air.
After lunch, continue north to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic hub. On arrival, check in to your hotel. Dinner is included at the hotel, providing a comfortable opportunity to rest after a full day of travel and sightseeing.
