Over half of the global population traces their spiritual ancestry to the Middle East, especially Egypt and Jordan, regions known as the cradle of modern civilization and rich with well-known holy sites. But there's more to explore beyond these sites. On a 16-day journey that begins in Cairo, you will find yourself amidst the awe-inspiring pyramids, a testament to a 4,000-year-old civilization. The adventure continues as you board the Harmony V, a luxurious 180-foot mega yacht, for a sea voyage from Egypt to Jordan via the Suez Canal, offering a unique blend of ancient wonders and modern luxury.

Itinerary

Board your overnight flight to Cairo.

Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, a representative will facilitate the transfer to the designated hotel. In the evening, a welcome dinner is scheduled, either at the hotel or at a selected local restaurant.

Depart the hotel for a full day tour. Begin at the Giza Plateau, where the iconic Great Pyramid of Cheops stands, the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World.Explore the three main pyramids of Pharaohs Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. Nearby, the majestic Great Sphinx, carved from a single piece of bedrock, serves as a testament to both ancient and modern Egypt. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest archaeological museum near Cairo. It houses over 100,000 relics, including a prominent statue of Ramses the Great and 5,600 artifacts from King Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Begin a journey through Cairo, delving into its rich history. Discover the architectural marvels of Old Cairo, from The Hanging Church to the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Cairo Citadel, and St. Simon Monastery. After a culinary break, the exploration culminates with a visit to the renowned Khan el-Khalili Bazaar.

Journey to Alexandria, where a lunch will be provided upon arrival. In the afternoon, delve into the city’s heritage by visiting the Catacombs of Kom EL Shoqafa and Pompey’s Pillars (Serapeum of Alexandria). After the tour, settle in at the hotel. The remainder of the evening, including dinner, is yours to enjoy at your own pace.

Breakfast is served at the hotel. Later in the morning, the itinerary features visits to the Alexandria Library and the Citadel of Qaitbay. A pause along the picturesque coastline offers an opportunity for individual lunch arrangements. Following this, a transfer to the pier for embarkation is arranged. The subsequent activities encompass.

Afternoon arrival in Port Said. Visit the De Lesseps statue, the El Salam Mosque and a Christian cathedral. Continue to the Memorial of Unknown Soldiers and the nearby Islamic-style Suez Canal Authority Building. Time permitting, the Port Said Museum will be included in the city tour. Late night Suez Canal crossing and overnight cruise.

Suez Canal transit day. Exit the canal in the afternoon and arrival in Suez. Overnight in port.

The day is dedicated to a comprehensive excursion to the esteemed Coptic Monasteries of St. Anthony and St. Paul, showcasing the profound historical and cultural significance of the region. Following this enriching experience, guests will reconvene onboard as the ship sets its course for the vibrant destination of Hurghada.

Late afternoon arrival in Hurghada, Egypt’s world famous beach resort town on the Red Sea. Relax, enjoy a refreshing cocktail and experience a traditional Bedouin evening with live music. Overnight in the port.

Begin a two-day land excursion. Visit the Valley of the Kings, home to the Egyptian Kings’ tombs. Next, see the Hatshepsut Temple, a monument to the only female Pharaoh to rule. Onwards to the Colossi of Memnon, see two giant statues that originally flanked the entrance to Amenhotep III’s mortuary temple. Return to the hotel for lunch and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Luxor.

Early morning tour to Luxor’s west bank section. Following breakfast, visit East Bank and stop at the imposing Karnak Temple to see the Hypostyle Hall, Sacred Lake and Avenue of the Sphinxes. Finish the day at the spectacular Luxor Temple complex with its culturally significant statues, obelisks, and temples dating back to the 14th century B.C. Enjoy lunch at the hotel, check out and return by coach to the ship in Hurghada. The ship sails to Aqaba tonight.

Disembark around midday. Meet your guide and drive to the magical desert of Wadi Rum, the home of “Lawrence of Arabia.” Hop in 4×4 vehicles for a desert tour starting with the Lawrence of Arabia spring and giant rocks with inscriptions from the Talmudic period mentioned in the Quran. If you wish, walk up the impressive sand dunes (and then roll down!). Continue to Petra and check into the hotel.

Drive 800 metres above sea level to Nebo which overlooks the Holy Land. Enjoy panoramic views of Mount of Olives, the Dead
Sea, Jericho and the Jordan Valley. Head to Madaba and enter St. George’s Church where the oldest map of Jordan, Jerusalem and Egypt is housed. Break for coffee or tea in the town. Continue to Um Rassas which houses the vibrantly coloured mosaics from cities across Jordan, Egypt and the Holy Land. Transfer by bus back to the Dead Sea. Overnight in a hotel.

Embark on a day-long tour beginning with a visit to Mount Nebo, elevated at 800m and offering panoramic views of the Holy Land, including landmarks like Mount Olives of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan valley. Inside the church, explore mosaics
depicting everyday scenes. Continue to Madaba, celebrated for its fruits, waters, and the ancient mosaic map of Jerusalem. Enjoy lunch in Madaba before proceeding to Amman, historically known as Rabbath Ammon and Philadelphia. The city tour encompasses the Archeological Museum, the Citadel with its Temple of Hercules remains, and the remnants of the Roman Theatre. Conclude the day with a transfer to the Dead Sea, where dinner awaits at the hotel.

Spend a leisurely day at the Dead Sea, immersing yourself in the hotel amenities and the captivating surroundings. Explore at your own pace and choose where to have lunch. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Following the hotel checkout, guests will be transferred to Amman airport in preparation for their homeward-bound flight.
