ITINERARY

Begin your exciting African adventure by boarding an overnight flight to Nairobi, Kenya, from Canada. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience exploring the natural beauty and wildlife of East Africa.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel, the Nairobi Serena Hotel or similar, for a two-night stay. Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, is situated at an altitude of about 6,000 feet and means “place of cool waters” in the Maasai language. There’s much to see and do in Nairobi, and your accommodations at the Nairobi Serena Hotel will provide an oasis of calm in its lush gardens and luxury amenities.

Embark on an exciting journey through Nairobi’s highlights. Discovering the remarkable work of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust at the Elephant Orphanage, dedicated to the care of orphaned elephants. The adventure continues at the Giraffe Centre, where you engage with endangered Rothschild’s giraffes in their haven. Your curiosity is then indulged with a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, immersing you in the area’s rich history and culture. Afterwards, we will top off the experience with a delightful welcome dinner at the renowned Mandhari Restaurant, famous for its tantalizing barbecued meat dishes. Conclude your day at the Nairobi Serena Hotel or a similar comfortable accommodation.

After breakfast, visit the African Heritage House, and enjoy lunch there. This afternoon embarks on a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, known for its large elephant herds and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a game drive as you head to your lodge, spotting various wildlife that calls this park home. The combination of diverse habitats and abundant water makes Amboseli a haven for a wide range of animals and bird species, enhancing your safari experience.

Spend a full day in Amboseli National Park, enjoying morning and afternoon game drives. You’ll have the opportunity to see a diverse array of wildlife in their natural habitats.

Travel from Amboseli to the Namanga border, where you’ll clear customs and change vehicles before proceeding to Arusha for lunch. Afterward, continue by road to Tarangire National Park, which boasts majestic baobab trees and a diverse array of wildlife.

Spend a full day enjoying morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire National Park, exploring its varied landscapes and observing its incredible wildlife. 

Depart from Tarangire and head to Gibbs Farm, a charming lodge which retained the atmosphere of a colonial farmhouse, located between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy lunch at Gibbs Farm and tour the Iraqw cultural center.

Descend into the crater and enjoy a game drive in the morning and have lunch served on the crater floor in the afternoon. Visit a remote Maasai village to learn about their culture, customs, and daily life. Immerse yourself in this unique experience as you interact with the villagers and gain an insight into their fascinating way of life. Return to the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge or similar for a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening.

After breakfast, travel through the rolling landscapes and acacia woodlands of the Ngorongoro Highlands as you make your way to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Stopping at Oldupai Gorge for a visit to Richard Leakey’s Museum and Archeological sites enroute. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodations at the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge or similar and enjoy lunch. Afterwards enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti, renowned for its vast grasslands, remarkable wildlife, and the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras travel in search of water and fresh grazing.

.  Begin your day with an optional balloon safari (additional fees apply) or an early morning game drive. After breakfast, depart with your guides to your next camp, Serengeti Migration Camp or similar, located in a different region of the Serengeti, and enjoy game viewing en route. This luxury camp, listed among Travel + Leisure Top 500 Best Hotels in the World (2012, 2010) and World’s Best Hotels (2011), consists of 20 luxury tents with their own deck and en suite bathroom, a split-level lounge, dining area, sundeck, and swimming pool amongst the kopje outcrops. 

Accommodation: Serengeti Migration Camp or similar (2 nights)

Spend two full days exploring the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Enjoy excellent meals in the separate dining tent and relax on the veranda of your tent between drives. You may choose to be flexible with your game drives by departing at sunrise with a packed breakfast or enjoying an early breakfast in camp and taking a picnic lunch, returning to camp for dinner.

In the morning, transfer to the Lobo airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro, followed by a scheduled flight to Nairobi and take your return flight home.
