From there, the ship follows the winding Douro river en route to the Spanish border, with the opportunity to visit Vila Real on the way. Spend some time exploring the historic city of Salamanca before returning to Portugal to sample the Douro Valley’s delicious port wines.

PORTO / EMBARKATION

This evening, board the ship and settle into your cabin. You’re invited to join the crew and your fellow travellers for a welcome cocktail. Later, you have the option to experience Porto by night.

PORTO / RÉGUA

This morning, set off on a guided tour of Porto, one of Europe’s oldest—and most colourful—cities,whose historic center was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Alternatively, experience urban Porto via tram, including a stop at the Tram Museum. After, sample some local specialties and return to the ship for an evening of entertainment as we set sail for Peso de Régua.

RÉGUA / VEGA DE TERRON (SPAIN)

Today, leave the ship for an optional excursion to Vila Real, where you’ll explore 18th-century Casa de Mateus’ exceptional gardens. Tonight, experience Spanish culture as we cross the border into Vega de Teron.

VEGA DE TERRON / SENHORA DA RIBEIRA

Today, join us for the included excursion to discover Salamanca, Spain, including an unusual cathedral and Spain’s oldest university dating back to 1218. Others may choose to explore Salamanca’s UNESCO-listed Old City by bike. Tonight, celebrate this exceptional journey with a gala dinner on board.

SENHORA DA RIBEIRA / FOLGOSA / LEVERINHO

Today, set off on an excursion along the Douro Valley’s world-renowned wine route. Here, traditional landowners and viticulturists have been making wine for some 2000 years. Recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the region is known for its excellent port wine. This evening, experience traditional folk entertainment on board the ship.

LEVERINHO / PORTO / DISEMBARKATION

Enjoy a relaxed buffet breakfast on board the ship. After, say goodbye to your fellow travellers and prepare for your onward journey.
